Eye On The Globe: Elon Musk has launched a new Artificial Intelligence company XAI. His team behind the creation of the new company are experts who have worked for major tech firms such as Google Research and OpenAI. Musk and his team will share more information in a live Twitter Spaces
chat on Friday.
JPMorgan Chase plans to lay off 63 employees in New Jersey in September. The information was released by the company in a worker adjustment and retaining notification. JPMorgan commented that the layoffs affect only a minor proportion of local workers and efforts are underway
to reallocate these employees.
Disney will be extending CEO BoB Iger's deal by two years, taking the tenure through till 2026. The entertainment giant said that it voted unanimously to extend Iger's contract. The independent members of the board noted that the move provides more continuity for leadership during its ongoing transformation and allows more time to execute a transition plan for CEO succession.
