Embers of Armageddon is a Doom modification that changes the weapons, upgrades and your customizable suit to one from Doom 2016. Your Doomslayer is also somewhat slower so some secrets that are time triggered, might not be possible to reach so easily as before (like in Bio Lab). You are able to perform double jumps to overcome your enemies and stomp them with your boot, but you are also way more fragile than in vanilla Doom. Embers of Armageddon promotes aggressive gameplay over hiding in covers or short engagements, you need to most times in move. Use speed to your advantage, blast your enemies away with super shotgun at point blank range or by rockets. As for the weapons in this mod, they are the same as from the DOOM 2016 but excluding the multiplayer weapons like Hellshot, Reaper, Grenade Launcher or Lightning Gun. Most of the weapons are upgradable, except the BFG that has no attachments or upgrades and the Chainsaw that you must use to get the ammo if you don't have any. The weapons have the two possible attachment to install that can be found during the playthrough, some of them are valuable like Tactical Scope for HAR or Explosive projectiles for Combat Shotgun. But the most powerful weapon so far in this modification is the Super Shotgun, one of the most versatile weapons. After the upgrades and especially the Uranium Piercing Shells, you are practically unstoppable - your shells pierce through the enemies, all of them. You reload your Super Shotgun in a very fast manner, four shells are even enough to take down the Baron of Hell, one shell is enough to eliminate a Pinky. When you get an attachment for your weapon, you can upgrade it twice or three times to unlock a challenge for it, after passing it, your weapon gets additional perk.
