Empire of Ember is an action-RPG with real-time strategy and management elements. After your master is murdered, you inherit the rule over a city and its inhabitants. The death of your master puts you on the trail of some strange events that you must investigate, for there might be much more than revenge at stake… Fight thrilling battles in a first-person view, wielding steel and magic; explore a fantasy world and lead your troops to battle in hundred-unit clashes in fully destructible environments. Govern wisely your subjects to make your city grow and prosper, and build and manage your town, designing it with total freedom in a 3D environment -- a town that you can upload for other players to explore or attack, while you also lay siege to their creations.

Centuries ago, the world of Domus witnessed the strangest of rains. Glowing crystals fell violently from the sky; only the bravest human souls dared to venture out to collect these crystals, and soon they found out they had awe-inspiring magical powers. They called these crystals the Embers, and named themselves Lightbringers; and with this new power, they became the rulers of the world, keepers of great knowledge and terrifying power.

You are the apprentice of one of these rulers, the wise and kind Manith. Abandoned as an orphan, he took you in when your innate powers became apparent. After ten years of service and learning under his wing, you passed your test and became a Lightbringer officially – but upon your return, you found your hometown under siege by a goblin army, led by a mysterious masked cultist; and your master dead, murdered in his own tower, his magic staff and Ember gone. As Manith's heir, you are ruler now… but of ruins and ashes only. It is your duty to bring your town back to life and govern it wisely to make it prosper again. But you also must avenge your master – and even more important, you must find his Ember, for these magical gemstones are too powerful to be left in the wrong hands.

Dual wield spells and weaponry in thrilling first-person battles. Duel enemies with melee weapons, blast them with magic staves, or headshot them at extreme distances with your bow
Use the environment to crush, trip, impale or explode enemies
Unlock new spells from 3 schools of Lightbringer magic to wreak havoc on your enemies: throw boulders with telekinesis, project chain lightning, raise up fallen enemies and command the undead to fight on your behalf…
Dodge, block or interrupt your enemies' attacks, but mind your stamina, or you will run out of air before the fight is over!

Lead your army in first person, in battles of up to a hundred units.
Tactics matter. Enter tactical mode and order your men to hold the line with a shield wall while archers rain death from above. Teleport behind enemy lines to wreak havoc
Fully destructible cities: use catapults to break down defenses from afar, or blast through the walls and lead your troops through the breach

Design, decorate, and defend your own fully destructible 3D city. Strategically place spawn points to rain fire from high towers while your garrison of melee units defends the gates.
Integrated sharing: download, siege and destroy, and rate other players' cities!
Build facilities to produce resources that will make your city grow and prosper

Conscript and train troops to accompany you in your adventures or stay in the city as its garrison
Research new kinds of units to make your army stronger
Hold court and pass judgment on daily events in the lives of your subjects
Make decisions that can change the story and lead to different game endings. Features a story written by Patrick Kevin Day, a former lead writer from Telltale Games
