Enable or Disable Show Desktop on Taskbar in Windows 11 [Tutorial]

Show Desktop (Win+D) can be used to minimize and restore all of your open windows at once. The show desktop feature helps to take a quick look at what’s on your desktop behind all the open windows.

By default, you can click/tap on the far right corner of the taskbar on the main display to show the desktop and minimize all open windows, and click/tap on it again to restore all minimized windows.

The Show Desktop option allows you to minimize all the existing windows open on your Windows 11/10 PC and visit your Desktop. People generally use it for a time out, when they feel overwhelmed by the number of tasks running on their desktop. You may not recognize this option by its name, but it is the button on the right-most area of your taskbar in the System Tray. Today, we will discuss how you can disable this Show Desktop option, or enable it if you don’t find it working on your system.

Windows 11 comes with a new Taskbar that retains the familiar look, but it's been redesigned with many visual tweaks and improvements, including the ability to disable the Show desktop option.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba, Lenovo, Alienware, Razer, MSI, Huawei , Microsoft Surface, and Samsung.
