ENCOUNTER WITH A HACKER

So this is how it happened
Okay, so this guy [ClanBase] cotty contacted me on Xfire. He told me that some poland hackers have infiltrated clanbase and that they will try to hack my clanbase account along with my email. Then he told me that I should change my email immediately to avoid being hacked. So i looked at the news on clanbase and there was no information about these hackers, also I checked my email to see if they contacted me, of course there were no messages about these so called "hackers". After that i searched for "cotty" on clanbase and found a guy with that name who has been a member since 2004 which proves that he is oldschool gamer, so this other guy is just probably using his name to fool others. The "hackers" told me to change my mail to "clanbasehelp@hotmail.com" - and there is no way that clanbase would use that mail service as its the weakest one available. So I told him that I am not stupid and that I wont fall for his "trick"... Later on I saw that he had one of my close friends on his friend list so I told him about this and my friend couldnt believe about this and he told me that he had sold him an account which proves that he steals accounts and sells them later on to other people.
The point of this is to tell you to be careful who you trust, because internet is a dangerous place and there are a lot of people who cant wait to steal your information...
