Ending Reaction Route D Story Tree Langrisser 1 And 2 Langrisser I & II - Friend Foe Defeating Lance
9I just finished my very first story campaign playthrough in Langrisser 1 (Langrisser 1 and 2 / Langrisser I & II Remake / Remaster on the Nintendo Switch) and this video is about the last mission / ending of the D Route Path.
If you are on this path - please know that the Lance Brigade (Lance, Laias, and Laetitia) will leave you on the last scenario Chapter 20 Friend Foe. Betty also leaves your team. I was completely caught off guard and was not aware of this. The Lance Brigade has been an integral part of my team, so not having them made this a little more complicated. I basically had to use commanders that I haven't been using for awhile, such as Chris, who was like lvl 14 lol. The good thing is that I had a few strong characters such as Ledin, Jessica, Narm, and Taylor. They basically carried my team to victory. I also didn't try to defeat every single unit before the commander (which is what I would normally do to get more gold / exp in previous battles). I was totally fine just going for the commanders.
My reaction and thoughts on the D Route Story Tree Ending
I don't think Lance needed to leave my team. Previously, Lance did mention how making a compromise with Dalsis / Digos wasn't necessarily what Ledin truly truly wanted. That compromising was something Lance hinted as not sufficient, perhaps a foreshadowing of what's to come. Maybe this is his way of ensuring that the kingdoms are united under Ledin to bring peace. He mentioned that Ledin's dream will finally come true. Lance kind of played it off as just "settling the score," but I really think he just made the choice FOR Ledin. I think if it were completely up to Ledin, he wouldn't have invaded Dalsis or try to unite the kingdoms under him. It's a sad ending and definitely felt it could've gone another way.
