I chose to accelerate the video every 50 seasons. The full playthrough took 6 hours. In the final hours I didn't do much anyway.
BTW: I decided not to change any settings concerning the scenarios at all. Unfortunately, the game has only one standard map for all scenarios (except The Long Summer). That's why I have to play always the same map.
