61This is an arrangement of "Enemy Space Ship," the eighth stage BGM from Capcom's 1991 game Captain Commando. It has been arranged for native playback on NES hardware.
I was sufficiently annoyed at the quality of the music in the Super Nintendo version of the game (https://youtu.be/GCevHU19-Uk) to want to take a crack at it myself, but then I changed my mind and decided that it would be more fun to do it for the NES instead. I've been itching to make one of these oscilloscope videos anyway.
To make sure that the audio lined up with the visualization, this was recorded from an NES emulator, but it also loads up and plays just fine on my old toaster-model NES deck from a flashcart. The track was done with the SuperNSF driver since it provided a means for proper PCM sample playback which I used here for the kick, toms, snare, and the distorted square waves that give the guitars that harsh edge. I wanted it to rock hard. \m/
