I actually found "Enola Holmes 2" (2022) directed by Harry Bradbeer to be a step up from the first film. It is a prime example of a modern fun and well executed social justice movie, in a time where that is quite rare.

Enola (Millie Bobby Brown) has opened up shop as her own detective agency. She is having trouble finding business due to her being overshadowed by her famous brother sharing the same familial name and career choice Sherlock (Henry Cavill). Enola finds her first client whom is a little girl who is trying to find her lost sister who mysteriously disappeared from a run down factory where hundreds of women make matchbooks under poor conditions. For the first time in his career, Sherlock becomes stumped in a case and is unable to track down his mark.

Enola Holmes 2 was more enjoyable than the first one because it has a different agenda this time. The first film was about introducing us to Enola for the first time, with a theme and message about uplifting women and standing up for their rights. That's all fine and dandy but I found the first film to fail in it's message and execution in more than one areas, where this one doesn't really fail at all. It may miss a few key things or not quite elaborate as much as it should, but it's not outright failing or entirely missing the point like it's predecessor could and did at times, at least in my opinion.

Millie Bobby Brown is more charismatic and charming than ever before, and she is a prime example of what qualities a leading woman needs to succeed in a role and carry a film on her back. Sherlock has become a lot more human, humble, and likeable in this film, without compromising the important traits and qualities which make him, him. Where the movie does faulter a little is first of all it's length, feeling too long and not paced in a perfect manner, constantly one-upping it's own reveals and plot points to continue the story as long as possible. This is admittedly an odd criticism and I hope nobody takes this the wrong way, but hear me out, I just wanted to point out that it was odd there was not a single inkling or mention of racism whatsoever, which I only bring up because it was just as prevalent of an issue as women's rights during this time period in history, and there is a very diverse supporting cast here so I felt there was a missed opportunity to actually bring up that topic appropriately and fittingly.

Enola Holmes 2 is one of the best Netflix Originals in their catalogue currently in my opinion. It's not perfect, but it's superior to the original in pretty much all areas most notably storytelling, intrigue, character value, and the message / political objective of the film.
