While Pikmin 4 is scheduled for release on July 21, Nintendo has kept their other plans for the year under wraps. There are whispers of intriguing ports, like Mortal Kombat 1, but considering its inclination toward gory content, it might not make an appearance. Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals and the highly anticipated new Professor Layton adventure are also on the horizon for 2023, albeit without specific release dates. Then there are the long-awaited titles, Metroid Prime 4 and the elusive Hollow Knight: Silksong, which have left fans eagerly waiting. However, Silksong has become a regular on such lists for quite some time now.
Since its announcement during last year's Direct, Pikmin 4 has been slowly revealing its secrets. Just this month, Nintendo delved deeper into the game, revealing an exciting addition: a character creator. This groundbreaking feature allows players to breathe life into their own Rescue Corps Captain. The latest trailer showcased the options available, such as selecting your skin tone, hair color and style, spacesuit, and even your character's name. With ten pre-configured faces, each adorned with unique eyes, noses, and cheek dots, the possibilities for customization are endless. Additionally, it was disclosed that players can alter their appearance and name at any time, so perfection isn't necessary right from the start.
Moving on to the intriguing rumors, a trusted leaker named Pyoro claims that not only is a new 2D Mario game in development, but it will also make its appearance in the upcoming Nintendo Direct. Pyoro has a track record of accurate leaks, including the stealth announcement of Everybody 1-2-Switch and the existence of Sonic Superstars. The leaker also hints at the Direct featuring a "Remake of a SNES classic," although no specifics were provided.
