This is a brandnew release. I was actually often thinking about doing a complete soundtrack for Enter The Matrix. Already when I made Path Of Neo but it just never realized, also because I had real problems ripping the PS2 version. The Xbox and PC versions had really noisy ADPCM which sounded rather crap and I knew that if I really do a release of this, then I want to do it right and only with PS2 audio. This was also because just like with Path Of Neo, all music tracks are like in 5 second hex chunks which are a pain to merge and edit because the stop marker transitions just dont work properly, you can even hear this in the game. You can imagine the amount of work and time this took. Not as much as Path Of Neo but still more than enough time.
What should also be said is, that this is a hybrid release consisting out of game audio, as well as the promo score soundtrack based on a lossless CD rip. I basically sorted everything and excluded the tracks that were already on the CD, this saved me a bit of time and they are in even better quality than on the PS2. The titles were also just straight copied over from the CD but all the new and missing tracks have made up titles by me. The cutscene music that is included, is all based off the CD since there is no way to rip the cutscene music without SFX and voiceover from the game. That means there might be some cutscene tracks missing and also I excluded the Evanescence end credits music since its literally just Going Under. I did include all the game specific edits of music though. The last track is technically not in the game and is a cut bonus track.
I am not sure if there were already any proper full rips of this game but all that I found were either untagged or based on noisy badly mastered Xbox rips with stop marker problems and all. The only somewhat proper but abandoned (?) rip I found was by OrangeC, who also made Path Of Neo. I guess Enter The Matrix is just less popular than Path Of Neo, especially the music.
