In today's episode (Ep 3), we continue through Pridemoor Keep and fight King Knight, our first boss (other than Black Knight, that is). We also use our Shovel Knight amiibo to unlock the exclusive amiibo content for Specter of Torment on Nintendo Switch: the Fairy of Shovelry!
So far the Fairy of shovelry is ADORABLE. Leave it up to Yacht Club games to cook up some interesting amiibo bonus content. The Fairy of Shovelry might not be too helpful though, as it can't seem to pick up gems (too heavy!). We're still glad we have the amiibo, though!
We'll feature some gameplay, share our early impressions, and give an informal, spontaneous Specter of Torment review as we go.

Pridemoor Keep is the lair of King Knight (who is the next and final DLC for Shovel Knight). Pridemoor Keep is a great level! We really enjoyed Pridemoor Keep. The music has changed a bit since the other games, can you hear it?
We also play Horace's minigame. It's a tough one!
Wait, isn't the release date for Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment in April? It is on every other platform, but the release date Specter of Torment on the Nintendo Switch was March 3rd!
We have the FIRST LOOK at Specter of Torment because we went out and bought a Nintendo Switch at midnight and immediately installed Specter of Torment. We wanted to be able to show you guys some gameplay and give you our first impressions and early review. It wasn't easy with that OTHER GAME sitting on the table, but we're here for you!
Specter of Torment (release date April 2017) is available NOW (March 3rd!) on the Nintendo Switch, and our first impressions are that it is AWESOME. The gameplay is fantastic and our first look at the game has shown us that Yacht Club has done it yet again. Specter Knight handles smoothly and beautifully, and the gameplay is a treat.
Specter of Torment gameplay is smooth and fast on the Nintendo Switch, as it should be. Our first impression: GLAD WE BOUGHT IT. Our next first impression? YOU SHOULD BUY IT. We hope you enjoy this FIRST LOOK at Specter Knight's campaign in Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment.
