Zero had just left Japan after having captured Mai. While traveling through China searching for some of the fighters by luck one came to him. The fighter was Chun-Li she was investigating the disappearance of Guile. She had no eye-witnesses for all the men at the airbase had been killed by Igniz. Chun-Li had a hunch that the organization NESTS was responsible. Chun-Li knew that Zero was part of NESTS. She just waited for the opportune moment to confront him, and she did. Right in her own country. Chun-Li questioned Zero about Guile. Zero was not aware of the fact that Guile was now a captive of NESTS, but he did assure here that Guile would be in good hands if he was. He did have bad news though. The bad news was that after the experiments were conducted on each fighter and the DNA extracted the fighter would die. The process was imperfect and this was one of the flaws of it. Chun-Li got very emotional over this and told Zero about Guile's family in a attempt to change Zero's ways. Zero had no remorse for Guile's family or the fact that he would die soon. Zero was an obvious threat to the world so Chun-Li had no choice but to attack him.
