5Wrote this song many years ago when I was just beginning to emerge from a really tough period in my life. We recorded the studio version back in 2004, but I've continued to play it live because it has good energy and people have always responded to it. The song is about tuning out on or "escaping" the world, sometimes not in the healthiest of ways. I was a singer-songwriter before I chose to write fiction for a living, so I used to pour my life experiences and inner turmoil into my music. That beautiful piece of country behind me is Colorado. I'm sure you've heard of it. Mountains, fresh air, legal cannabis. Ah yes, I love Colorado like a sister -- a really, really stoned f**kin' sister. Have fun out there, folks!
