Etrian Odyssey 3 HD: Manticore

So this fight can either be extremely brutal or not that bad so I'm giving him a seven.
You're really gonna want someone with Prevent order to stop the status effects and someone able to bind heads to stop the Manticore status effects. But let's back up a bit because before you can fight manticore you have to bring down 3 trees that can drain your HP and on death will blast out poison that does over 120 damage every turn so try to kill them all at once.
As for Manticore his skills aren't that scary he'll rarely hit for more than 100 damage but then there's hit ability to inflict you with any status effect in the game. Sleep is a pain and makes his not that bad hits a lot more bad, confusion may as well waste a turn, curse is... not too bad if you're careful, then there's poison and it's... actually fairly weak not likely to break 50 damage. BUT THEN THERE'S PETRIFICATION! That may as well be instant death and more than once have I had my entire party get petrified and at this point in the game there's no armor to resist it so prevent order and head bind are your only saving throws. Otherwise you just gotta hope this boss doesn't hit the skill issue button or you're gonna die.
As for the rare drop you need to kill it with a single attack dealing over 5000 damage... I used the Formaldehyde.
This is also the last video that I recorded ahead of time for Etrian Odyssey 3 so it'll be a couple days before we continue but I have the game on switch so I'll be grinding in my off time.
Oh and as far as Sea Bosses go this is the last one you could reasonably bring down before the endgame because the next sea boss is the Ruin Called which is level 52 and is deceptively tanky while having all the elemental attacks available.
