Etrian Odyssey Untold - vs. Storm Emperor (Alchemist Solo, Expert, Story)
Well, technically I don't start as solo but everyone but Arthur dies on the first turn so lol.
Uh, so something I noticed while this was rendering... You may have noticed that the Gold Armors have ailment resistance attached to them... and the Shoes have only 2 arrows for Paralysis. So that's a typo - it nulls it. Had I known that, I would have considered something else probably for the Toxic Gage slot. It still helps with Curse, which hampers damage and leads us to use Offering Robe instead, but yeah.
Other than that, same logic as Alchemist solo vs Yggdrasil Core from before. Single elemental hit, you use Light Tincture. Single physical hit, Formula. Offering Robe if either one doesn't cut it.
The pattern above 50% HP is simple. Corrupting Howl on multiples of 5, Volt Torrent always after that, and the rest are physical hits. I use Dilution here, although Analysis would be better (the duration works out so that, while in 50%, it would have run out before next Corrupting Howl). Storm Emperor does not have any multi-hit skills, so Light Formula 1 does just fine against the physicals. When cursed, use Offering Robe. Arthur can survive 1 hit recoil but not 2, even with Elderevenge (because I'm dealing pretty pitiful damage). TP regeneration cordial would have been simpler, but I wanted to put Focus to use as well.
Once below 50% (signaled by Binding Dance), Corrupting Howl is now used within certain turn ranges. There is still a maximum though, so I roughly count that and use Dilution to boost damage. I could also just ignore it and remove it out of equation (to lower the chance of human mistake). This is partly why I just used Dilution instead of Analysis... although I doubt this makes Dilution overall better. I could be arm-bound by the Binding Dance, so Offering Robe is there to pick up the slack.
Once below 25%, another Binding Dance. I should have defended here because the motion gives the phase away, but I wasn't paying attention. No biggie. If arm bound, Offering Robe.
So yeah, really simple once you know what you are doing. The other two dragons are much harder, if not impossible (on Expert), with strategy like this. Great Dragon's 4-6 hits (I believe) kinda sucks for Light Formula, and Cold Regen on Blizzard King is like lol (it doesn't have a cap as far as I know). Using Bloodlust/Offering Robe to do counter damage would work better for Great Dragon. Maybe I'll do Highlander solo if it's somewhat different from what's already been done.
