EU IV Revolution Tutorial
2,142This video is about the Revolution mechanic in EU IV added in Common Sense (It might actually be Art of War). It allows countries other than France to become Revolutionary and get huge bonuses. This video explains how the Revolution works and what you can expect out of it. Read more below for some additional notes about the mechanic.
Only countries in Europe (The European region, reaching out to Anatolia and Russia) can get the Revolutionary Target bonuses mentioned here for starting the Revolution, for being the first to have a Revolution. Westernized nations elsewhere can get the disaster still, but letting the rebels take your capital only turns you into a Constitutional Republic, not quite what you're looking for probably.
One caveat about the Revolution mechanic is that it requires the Art of War DLC in order to use it (which you should probably have anyway if you're playing EU4-- it's the most required DLC for the game imo).
Another note is that if you release countries in a peace deal, the released nations will start as a Republic of your religion, though I may be mistaken about this.
