EVE Echoes - Low-Sec Encounter goes hideously wrong. Lost Typhoon II and Ferox Command
So picked up a 30m Encounter Mission and broke two of my own key rules for running low-sec Encounters safely:
#1 Decided to do the mission at 7.30pm my time when low-sec is a lot busier. Normally I stop running low-sec missions at 5.30pm but decided to take a chance this evening.
#2 Mission was in a system I knew was dodgy, especially at busier times, but I went ahead anyway.
Despite that would probably have been okay if I hadn't been interrupted twice on the final wave by my lovely kids. You will note a couple of knocking sounds and a 'daddy' accompanied by some small pauses in the video as I asked them (very politely) to go away.
These interruptions didn't cost much time, but did distract me. As a result I neglected to notice that my Raven wasn't actually shooting for about half of the final wave. This was pretty critical as you will see, as the tackling Daredevil warped in as I was in the process of killing the very last target. If I had finished a few secs earlier would probably have been warping out by the time it arrived. I should probably have warped out when local spiked, but hindsight is always perfect.
Anyway, did learn that Rapids will not hit a Daredevil even with 6 Target Painters and 2 Missile Guidance Computers in fleet, so will need to adapt accordingly.
Congrats to my murderers. If I am going to lose ships I am slightly happier losing them to a couple of Machariels than any old rubbish.
So there you go. Broke my own tips for low-sec and ended up dead.
