valiant, yet instantly obvious it wasn't gonna work. not even close.

i find it interesting for another reason: the man from wer4 may have oodles of experience but he whiffed on the timing between when his upwell point expired and his siren ETA on target. (i was kind of waiting for that moment actually, to gauge his actual skill level after all those upwell defenses)

i suspect they didn't bring logi because of all the different entities involved. but, honestly, once i saw none i was like GG. plus, i swear that gaggle of ishtars was a multiboxer.

i was kind of hoping it was BlackFlag that had dinged the shields earlier. *sigh* oh well, maybe next time (they still have the war active)

the thing with upwells is they can deal significant damage to battleships, and the closer you are to it the more you'll depend on logi. in fact, there's zero way to prevent losses unless you have a certain amount of non-ecm/neuted logi.
There's usually a few solutions but most of them rely on overwhelming numbers. one low numbers answer is using ravens or typhoons at 300km with a few logi at 350km (beyond an upwells typical targeting range), the other is the usual meta of triglavian+logi at short range. it's a meta cuz it works.

so, yeah, if you try dropping non-trig battleships with zero logi on top of a manned upwell. well, kiss your ships goodbye.
To be fair, it was a valiant effort with alot of thought put into how they were going to deal with any standup fighters the upwell launched. But, you can see clear as day the concern (or lack thereof) that the man from wer4 had because he relied almost solely on just the upwell gunner...whereas, if there's a concern he would have moved in his alts ready to megaT to death anything big enough to cause issues (thus lowering his upwell gunner alt's ability to micro)
