EVE ONLINE PROJECT DISCOVERY

EVE Online has announced a new mini-game called “Project Discovery,” in which players can contribute to real life science objectives. Project Discovery works similarly to the well-known Folding@Home, providing crowdsourced analysis of the protein distribution in human cells.

GOOGLE’S DEEPMIND BESTS GO PLAYER
In tech news, Google’s DeepMind was able to best an expert Go player in Korea in the first of five matches that are scheduled to test its AlphaGo program. Similar to chess, Go has long been considered to be a major challenge for the developers of artificial intelligence.

XCOM2’S ANARCHY’S CHILDREN
The first DLC pack for XCOM 2 is being released on March 17th. Anarchy’s Children will include 100 soldier customization options and some performance fixes. The DLC will cost $4.99 purchased standalone.

PETITION FOR LIONHEAD STUDIOS
Fans are reacting negatively to the announcement of the closure of Lionhead Studios and have initiated a petition asking Microsoft Studios to keep the development team active. The petition currently has 1,172 supporters, 328 short of its goal. It is unknown why anyone believes this will be effective.
