PLAYSTATION VR WILL BE $399
PlayStation has announced their VR system will be sold for $399 and released in October 2016. The system relies on the PlayStation Camera which retails for around $50. Comparatively, the other leading virtual reality systems will be launching in just a few months, but range $200 to $400 higher in cost.

POTENTIAL MICROSOFT AND SONY COLLABORATION
Microsoft recently reached out towards other platforms regarding potential cross-compatibility, which would allow gamers to play with their friends on other systems. Sony has responded favorably, but it’s unknown whether a deal is currently in the works. Rocket League became the first game on the Xbox to support cross-platform play with the PC, which was already supported by the PS4.

ARK: SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
Ark: Survival of the Fittest has officially launched. A free Multiplayer Online Survival Arena, Ark: Survival of the Fittest has been developed with eSports in mind. A $50,000 monthly cash prize is designed to drum up interest and encourage the building of a solid community.

CRYENGINE V REVEALED
Finally, Crytek recently unveiled its new CRYENGINE V at GDC 2016, distributed under a “Pay What You Want” business model that will include a comprehensive asset store and support C#. This will put CryEngine in direct competition with both Unreal Engine and Unity.

• Tyranny’s announcement trailer has been released by Paradox Interactive, featuring Kyros, the Overlord.
• Eric Medalle, a creative design director for Pokemon Company International, was tragically killed in a freak accident in Seattle. Eric Medalle had worked for Pokemon since 2003 and had been a creative director with the company for the last six years. A campaign has been started to support his family.
• Stellaris, a new science-fiction strategy game by Paradox Interactive, also released a new trailer featuring in-game activity and an overview of the game’s plot.
