Today, we're playing one of the greatest games on the whole system. As we've seen with many more modern Contra games, it is actually possible to mess this franchise up, and it would've been all too easy to put some feature into this first Game Boy version that did just that. Thankfully, the wizards at Konami produced one of the finest 8-bit run-and-gunners ever made. Exquisite attention to detail in both graphics and sound, and that irresistable and super-difficult gameplay that NES fans know very well.
