Previously, I said that for me Everhood 2 is on par with the first game. But I changed my mind after finishing this game. The first game was definitely better.
I don't like the story, the theme of "nothing matters", the one and only dissapointing ending. I don't like how the game keeps hinting that there might be some secrets or some alternative paths for you, except there isn't. It's a just an intended troll by the developers.
It also seems like Everhood 2 throws out the window the ending of first game where you help Pink and free everyone. Instead, you get a continuation of the Yellow Doll ending. But maybe this is not the same world, or timeline or whatever, since Pink is replaced with other Light Beings in other soul routes.
I'm still a little mad because of the God Machine.
The main focus of this game seem to be battles. But even then, there's a bit too much repetitive stuff. Look at the SMEGA enemies for example. Another dissapointing thing is battles are so much easier in the sequel. I wanted something challenging like Dev Gnomes or Cat God, but no enemies in this game are on the same level.
I still like this game, just dissapointed by how it handled the topics above.
