Every Day We Fight is a promising squad-based tactics game that combines the free aim of Phoenix Point and exploration/pre-combat/squad mechanics of Mutant Year Zero. That's probably the best way to describe it. Of course it's a pre-alpha playtest, so things are gonna change/evolve etc. Reading the Steam description reveals more information, but right now it's irrelevant, as we can only see/judge the Playtest.

Initially, I did stream this as part of promotional campaign (where I lost the mission too as I was trying to learn/understand the game), but then I decided to properly invest myself fully into this project, join Discord, playtest, and now I am rooting for the devs to make a great product. We need more games that feature Phoenix Point's aim freedom.

Apparently @ChristopherOdd is majorly involved in the game too (I assume tester/QA/game design advisor?) as he was assigned a staff role in Discord. Hi Chris c:
