Not very hard at all, grab the cup, the key, kill the guy that is close by the cauldron to get the meat that he dropped to lure out the rat in the hole and grab it, give the cup to the bartender that you've picked up for the booze and give it to the man in a black suit and hat for another key which opens a door where an old man is holding a first aid kit. Give the man the rat for the kit and go back to the beginning of the level until you see another man lying on the floor injured for the battery pack and put it inside the robot and he will open it for you and you are finished with the first stage.
