Look:
The look of the Excelvan Bluetooth Scale is awesome. The scale looks extremely futuristic and high tech with its ITO conductive film layers that are used to measure tons of information such as body fat percentage. The top of the smart scale is made out of a glass that has a beautiful dark blue and grey color. It looks great in my bathroom. The Excelvan scale is also digital with a very large 4.3 inch LCD screen. This screen displays weight, Bluetooth connection, and battery life. The screen is also backlight and very bright. I love the look of this smart scale.
Build:
I am very happy with the build of this smart scale. A scale is something that is meant to be stood on and should be extremely well built. The Excelvan Bluetooth Smart Scale is just that and more. The tempter glass on top feels smooth, comfortable, and strong. There is no flex or torque when standing on the scale and it is rated for up to 400 lbs. Which tells you how well it is built. This smart scale is built with an automatic calibration feature that makes sure it is always giving a accurate measurements. The only drawback of this is that it must sit on a hard flat surface and can not be used on carpet or a rug. While this is important to note it is in no way a negative.
Measurements:
This scale measures 8 different measurements Weight, Fat, Body Water, Bone Mass, Muscles Mass, Visceral Fat, BMI, and BMR. I don't really have any comparison for the Body Water, Bone Mass, Muscle Mass, or Visceral Fat measurements, but I can tell you that the weight measurement is very accurate. When compared to my bathroom scale that I have been using for years, the measurement was almost identical and only off by a couple tenths of a pound.
Easy of Setup:
This scale is very easy to setup and only requires 4 AA batteries to operate. Once you have the batteries in it is as easy as downloading an app and you are basically ready to go. Check out the steps below for a lesson of how to setup the Excelvan Smart Scale
Setup and Connection Tutorial:
1. Go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and find the app named "iWellness 4.0"
2. Open the app is installed on your phone, create a profile. This profile is local to your phone and not store on the internet so no need to worry about privacy.
3. Place the scale on a hard, flat surface and tap it to ensure the scale reads 0
4. Make sure you have the app open on your phone and stand on the scale. Ensure your feet are flat and that you stand still.
5. Wait for your weight to blink and then for the screen to countdown four 8 digits. Once it has stopped counting down the digits, your data will be transferred to your phone.
TIP: If the data never transfers to your phone or your phone never connects to the scale, try standing on the scale and then going to the Bluetooth menu on your phone. I have found that this can sometimes allow it to connect.
I love this device. It works great, is extremely well built, and seamlessly connects to my phone and uploads the data. For the price I would high recommend it to my friends and family.
