3,672Wildcard just released a huge state of the game report, for Ark: Survival Evolved where they revealed a lot of goodies we'll be covering today! Here's a bit more:
-As expected, more future updates. Free DLC and the paid expansion packs as well
-The Tek Sword and Tek Shield are coming. We showed these off in a spotlight video last week. Go check it out! And we’re getting TEK lights too to brighten up your bases.
-Big Ragnarok update, huge section of the map that’s the size of ARK’s “Island” map is getting revealed! New biomes, mini hidden boss battles, all kinds of whacky shit! It’s gonna be awesome!
-For console players, there’s a fix on the way for crashes involving player-dedicated servers. DDoS mitigation and duping fixes coming too!
-AND FINALLY AFTER SEVERAL YEARS, TITANOBOA WILL BE TAMEABLE! You’ll have to sacrifice fertilized eggs to these guys in order to tame them. Pretty solid idea.
With this big announcement they’ve included a sizeable Q&A answered by none other than good ol’ Jeremy Stieglitz. Here’s a summary of what’s been revealed!
-So the Structures Plus mod. Great mod right? So great that the ARK devs are looking to fully implement it into the game as a straight up feature. This is all depending on how well integration with the current game goes. Hopefully it’ll be a smooth transition.
-The TLC pass for all legacy dinos, as in dinosaurs in the early access launch portion of the game, is still happening. These will come out post-launch. I sincerely hope they’re looking into some of our ideas we pitched! Check out our Top 10 broken dinos video to see what we’re looking for!
-Along with the TLC pass, dinosaur AI is getting overhauled. An example that Jeremy mentioned is that animals will have a bias towards day and night. The Megalosaurus and Troodons were both a test-run of this idea and we’re glad to see it being implemented amongst ARK’s prehistoric inhabitants
-Ice wyverns from Ragnarok will be getting their own unique model finally! And they’ll be cross-server transferable too! All ARK’s wyverns have a distinct look and personality to them so this is a welcome change
-More tek stuff in the future for crybabies to whine about how it’s unbalanced but it’s honestly not at all! What is this “ERASER” thing they’re hinting at? Is it a reference to something or is it a code-word to a tek nuclear bomb? Hmmmm…
-Windows 10 version of the game that allows crossplay between Xbox, PC, and Xbox One X, is launching alongside ARK around the 29th of August. Possibly a few days later. Depends on Microsoft’s certification process. Again this doesn’t mean crossplay with Steam. Whole different service.
-And this is a big one. You know the Phoenix? The scrapped dino, the one whose cancellation tore poor, poor Zombo’s heart right from his chest? Like a real phoenix rising from the ashes, IT’S BACK! It will be a creature found on Scorched Earth, as a thank you one year anniversary gift!
