Exile (Genesis) Playthrough - NintendoComplete
A playthrough of Renovation's 1991 Sega Genesis action role playing game, Exile.
This is a different port and translation from the Working Designs version released on the TurboGrafx CD. There are some novel differences between them - whereas the Genesis version doesn't hesitate to jump fully in with the religious references, it censors out other things (like the heretics being burnt at the stake in a town center, some imagery of nude women). It does, however, have swearing in it, which is mostly not present in the TG16 version. The graphics and sound are obviously not quite up to the CD port's level, being on a cramped cartridge, but in all, this is a pretty respectable job of bringing the title to Sega's platform.
There are two spots in the video where you will notice a jump. Each of these jumps (one happens shortly after entering the first cave, the other in the forest) happen where I cut out the footage of grinding my levels up with the respawning enemies. Each of those instances were originally about 30 minutes of video of Sadler slashing over and over. I didn't think it made for compelling viewing, so I axed them. For those who are interested, though, the original video before these two cuts was just over the 3 hour mark.
Hope you enjoy the video of this excellent game!
