Option 878 by DracoLich. Now heroe gains experience if he/she lets monsters go without a fight (similar to Heroes 5). Gained experience dependent on the difficulty level (default is 100/80/60/40/20% of experience you would've gottent for killing them).
In file "option 878 - experience fo letting go.ini" you can override these coefficients.
