My previous colony was supposed to be the hardest possible colony. With the new Martian Express DLC, the new maximum difficulty is almost 1200%! The Underground has some amazing rare anomalies that can be scanned for breakthroughs. Fortunately (of unfortunately depending on your viewpoint), there is an exploit you can take advantage of in order to get the breakthrough you want.
(NOTE: This exploit may have been fixed in a recent patch. Further explanation coming in Monday's video.)
