Developer Lucky Pause released their Homesick game on May 28, 2015, in which actions in both the waking world and the dream world affect each other. Filled with puzzles and mystery, the player is tasked with piecing together what happened and how the protagonist is meant to escape. The game's release was met with generally positive, but often mixed reviews.
Actions are simple at best: W, A, S, and D to move; no jumping, but LShift to run. LMB is for actions (read a book, turn a doorknob, etc.); RMB is for putting items away (returning a book to a shelf, etc.); the mouse wheel changes items; and C is for crouch.
When the protagonist wakes in an abandoned building, it is up to the player to find puzzles and solve them, gathering clues to discover what happened — why the character is alone, why trapped in a dilapidated building, why dreams and nightmares seem to have an important effect on each other. While this place is strangely beautiful, sometimes the greatest beauty can be the cause of the worst horrors. Will we remain trapped forever? Let's play Homesick and escape together.
