This started as one full video where i was going to simply explore the main Sonic racing games. Those would have been Drift 1 & 2, plus the modern trilogy All-Stars, Transformed, & Team Sonic. Though that idea shifted when i kept remembering other instances of Sonic driving. That all started with the Rad Mobile appearance. It was originally meant to be a quick gag to start out the video showing Sonic technically in a car, then i'd move on to Drift. But then i remembered all the other characters who were included in the Gale Racer port, so that got expanded. (That footage alone took longer to obtain than probably any other footage I've ever had to procure. It took SO MANY races to be able to view each character, and they don't unlock in a traditional sense where you get to choose which one shows, so downloading save data was out of the question.) I also remembered that fun little McDonalds toy i used to play alot as a kid (Though Tails Sky Patrol was my favorite one) So i thought adding that would be a fun addition. After that i realized the main racing games would no longer be the sole focus, so i then decided to scour the internet and my own memory bank to find every old school example of Sonic in a car. This was still meant to be one full video at the time, but as i was finishing up the Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing portion (With all of it's ports as well) I looked at the number of pages i had written, and realized it wasn't practical to cover them all at once. So i made the decision to split the video, which added another challenge. Besides re-writing the intro, i now had to axe the original transition from old to modern, and write a closing for part one and an intro for part 2. No big deal. But since the older games originally were only meant to be a quick mention then move on, many sections now felt a bit rushed now that they're their own video. So i revisited each one and added some extra lines to round them out a bit. I think it turned out quite good, though some voice over sections weren't able to be matched perfectly. So i apologize for any jarring audio changes. One part of this video that i'm kind of embarrassed to admit is i completely forgot about Twinkle Park and the SA2 driving sections in the first draft. Whoops. Good thing i remembered too, cause those were some of the more intriguing parts to explore. I had a blast looking at the more obscure games, but unfortunately there isn't a crazy amount of things to discuss with each one. They pretty much speak for themselves as a racing game featuring Sonic. If you have the chance, i recommend you try playing all of them. Thanks for watching everyone.
