I decide to see how well XCOM runs on Linux. The answer: Pretty Well. It's not a perfect comparison because my Linux machine is AMD while the Windows is Intel. Since Intel has Hyperthreading, it tends to work better with games. That said, the Linux machine has a better graphics card - nvidia 960 vs nvidia 250GTX.
