This video is the eight (and last) of this series that gets into the actual cognitive functions.

Thinking is a judging function - it's what we rely on to make rational decisions. Thinking looks to detached (from emotional values and beliefs), logical and technical criteria to answer "what should I do?"

Extraverted functions are focused outward to the objective world unconnected to your personal experiences - the world that we all can interact with.

Put them together and you have an external, emotionally detached, logical systems (steps, contingencies, etc) used when making decisions. If you prefer Te, you act based on what empirical evidence shows is the statistically right choice, and what makes technical sense in the moment.
