Hobi didn't just get the nickname "Sunshine" randomly. His bright and bubbly personality earned him that title. It's so easy to see that Hobi is an extrovert. In fact, he was! BTS's 2017 MBTI result showed Hobi as an ESFJ (Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging). But when BTS took the MBTI test again in 2022, Hobi's result was the biggest plot twist of the century! Hobi is now an INFJ (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging).
No, the result wasn't wrong nor the test was rigged. Most people just have a misconception about introverts. Just because Hobi is an introvert, doesn't mean he wants to be alone all the time. Here he is being the life of the party during the JITB shindig. But then introvert Hobi will recharge himself with the people he's most comfortable with.
In fact, when Jin was feeling uncomfortable about meeting new people at the JITB party, Hobi didn't force him to be social. That's because Hobi understood Jin as his fellow introvert. All he wanted was for him to be there.
Here's extrovert Hobi trying to lighten up the mood when Jin and Jungkook were "fighting." And here's introvert Hoseok leaving Jungkook and Jimin to settle their own battle. For context, Jimin and Jungkook usually share a high-five during a specific part of "Anpanman." But something happened and Jungkook suddenly avoided Jimin's high-five. During that same part of the next performance, Jimin seemed to be ready to do that high-five with Jungkook, but JK had another plan. Hobi saw Jimin's frustrations but kept a smile on his face. When Jungkook did the high-five to Jimin but teased him at the same time... introvert Hobi was not in the mood to lighten things up.
Female staff can get pretty comfortable with extrovert Hobi. But they get intimidated by introvert Hoseok. Hobi's extroverted-introvert personality is probably one of the reasons why BTS is fighting over him. It's like making introvert Hoseok laugh is an achievement.
