EZ2DJ Resotration Update 2: 2/14/2012 Repaired, Cleaned and Replaced
7This is just another update video about my EZ2DJ machine. Its been cleaning up very nicely and I have done hours and hours of work to the cabinet to make it look presentable. Its a dirty and sometimes frustrating job (teardown and putting it back together) but when stuff is cleaned, repaired or replaced, it looks and works a ton better.
Some of the things I did...
-Clean Keys. Some of them are discolored, nothing I can do about that sadly.
-Clean plexiglass and metal sheeting for keys. Oddly enough there was a ton of oil wedged in between the two layers. It reeked and sucked to clean!
-Turntable cleaning. Okay, this was disgusting. A ton of rust and dirt was coded around the metal of each turntable and took hours to clean. Some of it can not be removed, but it looks very nice. I still need to adjust the sensitivity of the 1P turntable.
-Replacement of blue speaker lights (one was burned out, but I replaced them both).
-Speaker plexiglass/Amuse World plates cleaned.
-Glass bezel and metal monitor "skirt" cleaned and attached.
Seriously this video shows HOURS of work and some of it you can't even see, but its all about the restoration process. I knew this was going to be a huge project, and I am so happy to be working on it. The next restoration video will hopefully be one of the last ones, but its very hard to tell as I haven't messed with the inside at all yet.
