F1 Games: Intellivision version of Turbo
This is a quick playthrough of all the difficulties available on Intellivision for Turbo. The controls does not really explain itself, and actually after playing the Colecovision version I think I could have worked it out, but in this one, it didn't make a lot of sense. So I bumble my way trying to do it at full speed when I can work out how to do full speed from the get go.
Real hardware used in this, Intellivision had a keypad controller. The 1292 and Coleovision had similar controllers, but the Coleco was smart enough to have other attachments for the console, leading to a wheel that was necessary to play. Intellivision had no such luck, and we are stuck with the keypad.
This is part of a F1 series in memory of my Uncle, who was a massive F1 fan throughout his life. It made a big impact on me growing up as it was something my family regularly watched. As I grew up, I did move away from watching the motorsport, but I still have a casual interest in racing games in general. I fondly remember playing games on the N64 which was the first ones I remember looking realistic and having full race conditions such as number of laps. The plan is to go up through the ages of games with a F1 lean released in the UK, and then go through licensed F1 games at a later stage. -- Watch live at / mikebloke
