Visiting Failaka Island is a nice diversion from the hustle & bustle of Kuwait city, it is especially well suited for a family event. There is an archaeological site of interest that reveals many historical secrets of the island's importance. There is a zoological garden there. The sea breeze blowing over the island is also a welcome change from the heat on the mainland. Definitely, a nice day trip or weekend trip to getaway from the city.

Failaka is a Kuwaiti island in the gulf. It’s known for the 1950s traditional houses of Heritage Village. The Museum Palace of Sheikh Abdullah
Al Salim Al Sabah shows life in the 1900s. Camels and Arabian horses are kept at Failaka Stables. Once an outpost of Alexander the Great’s army, Failaka has Mesopotamian-era ruins, including the remains of a citadel. Jet skis are popular at Wanasa Beach. The island is 20 km off the coast of Kuwait City in the Persian Gulf. The name "Failaka" is thought to be derived from the ancient Greek
