Speaking of which, I did strongly consider making v2 use the Survival mode. Contending with illnesses and the other effects would have been a fun extra challenge for round 2. However, the restriction on saving was ultimately that mode's downfall. I won't pretend I'm not heavily preferential toward being able to save and load whenever I want because it's my experience to conquer, but the real problem is that it's a Bethesda title, something running on gamebryo's son. Losing an hour or more of progress to a landmine or raider is bad enough, but losing it to the engine spazzing out and crashing would just turn me off the experience entirely. It's a wonder I even had the patience to redo bits of the ending of Fallout The Frontier so many times thanks to crashes. Man, RIP that mod. Instead of focusing on bugfixes and polishing the content, they're stuck deleting half the fuckin thing because the new wave of pearl clutching soccer moms in zoomer and millenial clothing were offended by an artist's out-of-mod drawings and some sex jokes in an adult game. For what it was, it was an actually pretty good mod, more ambitious than official releases in a few ways, and people behind it tried real hard even if it didn't come out great. Then again, I gave the same sort of response to Hunt Down the Freeman, so maybe I'm just a sucker for amateur groups putting together big projects and making something of it.
I feel like I missed out on a lot of stuff in earlier areas. Don't be surprised if I re-explore them. (I don't just mean those locks and terminals I need to level up skills to access)
