Additional info:
- The interior has a couple patrolling non-hostile holograms and a terminal which makes references to Frederick Sinclair from Dead Money.
- Upon walking into the big light beam, control of the player character will be lost. They will stumble around and the screen will turn to black. Twelve hours will pass when in the light before regaining control. In Hardcore mode, the passing of time will affect dehydration, sleep, and hunger. Stepping into the light beam repeatedly can efficiently pass long periods of time.
- Vera Keyes' photo can be found on a table at the lowest level of the Z-38 lightwave dynamics research facility. It was a reference for her hologram that was developed on-site for the Sierra Madre Casino & Resort.
- Since there are two holograms and a computer entry mentioning hologram technology, this may prove that the Valence radii-accentuator and its stronger counterpart are based on hologram technology.

Summary:
The story has taken some parts from the Fallout and Fallout 2 stories, and is for the most part unrelated to its predecessor, Fallout 3.
Fallout: New Vegas takes place in 2281, four years after the events of Fallout 3, thirty-nine years after Fallout 2, and one-hundred-twenty years after Fallout. The New California Republic plays a major part in the game's story, being in a three-way struggle amongst the Caesar's Legion slavers, and the mysterious Mr. House.
OLD WORLD BLUES: The residents of the Mojave have long assumed the trackless wastes of the ‘Big Empty’ are a no-man's-land, a desolate stretch where no living thing can survive. In Old World Blues, you discover that it is anything but...
After being transported to the Big MT research crater, you find you're the only hope of saving the Think Tank – the strange group of post-human researchers who inhabit the facility. They enlist your aid to save them from their own experiments - experiments that have gone horribly out of control. As you explore the huge stretch of the Big MT crater and its many underground labs, you’ll confront strange mutated animals, battle terrifying new atomic robots, and discover a new home base to call your own. Recover all the weapons, armor, and tech of the Pre-War era and use them to help save all of Science!
