In coincidence with the 30th Anniversary for Phantom of the Opera (the musical), I decided to make an 8-bit rendition of the titular song. To do this, I borrowed elements from both the official version and the version from the symphonic orchestral medley, as well as a bit of Castlevania-esque structure in the middle. I remember this song being one of the most memorable ones from my childhood, and when I found out that the only 8-bit renditions of this song were GXSCC ports (the single biggest pet peeve when it comes to 8-bit, speaking from experience with the program), I felt a sense of righteous fury and decided I would do this track justice where no one else would. Or something like that, I might have been just in the mood for Phantom of the Opera.
On a side note, I was originally gonna try and do a Mega Man-esque boss theme based on this song, but that ended up being shoved aside for a full-fledged cover of the song.
