This tutorial shows you a step by step guide on how to find and pick your own custom/multiplayer maps when selected as the map picker. Unfortunately, the system is very much luck based right now and hopefully Ubisoft make the system far better in the near future. In the meantime, I hope this helps relieve some of the frustration.
