6ICQ, founded by Mirabilis in 1996, later bought by AOL, then by mail.ru was shutdown on the 26.06.2024 and it is time to say farewell and goodbye.
Being the first instant messenger on the world, having millions of users, ICQ (I seek you) interconnected people around the globe. Having ICQ in 2024 was still a bit of nostalgia, the Oh-Oh sound and games like slide a lama were long gone, as many users have not been seen anymore.
However ICQ surpassed messengers like MSN, Windows Live Messenger, AIM and Yahoo.
I am saying goodbye with a smile on my face and some tears in my eyes.
