Separate Music / Game Audio in OBS using Audio Application Capture (Updated)
6Separate Music (like Spotify), Alerts and Game Audio from each other in OBS Studio has become so much easier since Voicemeeter is not needed anymore for this specific task as OBS Studio supports Application Audio Capture.

Also going into specifics of OBS 30.2Since the release of OBS Version 28, OBS is supporting a feature called application audio capture, which means you can directly capture applications such as your games, music player, browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera etc.), Dixper and many more without the need to run everything through your "Desktop Audio" in your OBS mixer.
I will show you how as this is very easy.But why would we do that? It enabled you for example to split music and extract it from your VOD and therefore separate Game Audio, Discord, Music in OBS directly. It also allows you to set limiters and filters to each of your audio inputs without using virtual mixers like the one from Elgato, Voicemeeter, Rode and so on.
