Welcome to this aoe2 archer rush build order tutorial for the 22 population Mayan archer rush. Due to the extra starting villager, you will reach feudal at the same time as another civ will at 21 population

This build order takes advantage of the Mayan bonuses which include an extra starting villager and resources lasting longer. This means that you can advance at the same time as the Ethiopian 21 population archer rush. It also means that you can delay farms due to the extra time on resources, enabling you to focus more on wood during the transition to feudal age. The mayans also have cheaper archers which is a nice bonus. Due to the extra villager that mayans get, the start of this Mayan archer rush build order is a little different with other build orders as you have to start off with researching loom. This is a good strategy to use at low to mid Elo but at a higher level you will want to use a Drush or men at arms in to archers instead.

As with any straight archer rush, it is vulnerable to skirmishers and I have found scouts in to skirmishers to be deadly against this build order.

You can complete the Mayan archer rush at 21 population however fletching does seem a little delayed as resources are a little tight. It does work if you push deer though as you can afford to lose a villager from food.

Overall, this aoe2 Mayan archer rush is a fairly good strategy and was a fun one to make.

aoe2 Archer rush for mayans build order is as follows:-

Loom
6 Sheep
1 Lure boar
4 wood, make a house
1 boar lure boar
2 more to boar
4 berries
3 to wood, make a house
CLICK FEUDAL AGE

Move 5 from sheep to straggler trees
Move 2 from sheep to gold
1 from sheep to make house + barracks

FEUDAL AGE
research double bit axe
5 new villagers to gold
make 2 archery ranges
1 builder to wall, 1 to gold
new villagers to food
make blacksmith
research fletching
research wheelbarrow at 16-17 minutes
