Gaunt Valkyr is an Indie, Action Roguelike all about blasting through a post apocalyptic wasteland.
It’s a Nuclear Throne Like with 2 active abilities on each character, as opposed to just 1. Cool!

Compared to Nuclear Throne, Gaunt Valkyr adds an overworld map, letting you choose your path through the post apocalyptic landscape.
Think Super Mario 3, or Super Mario World, where to progress past zones, you had to clear a path through them. Very Retro, and very fun.

Gaunt Valkyr is a more approachable Nuclear Throne, as many of your foes are melee only, at least at the start, easing you into the dangers of these post-apocalyptic lands, and the dangers that lurk in the later zones.

The weapons feel fun and different, like homing bolters that shoot mini rockets, Lightning launching Tesla guns, or an acid spewing rat that dissolves walls!
There are also shops in some of the maps, offering new weapons in exchange for your hard fought gold! Cool!

And no need to wear out your fingers click clicking for every pistol shot like in Nuclear Throne!
In Gaunt Valkyr, you can hold down the fire button, at least until you run out of ammo!
Spare your fingers, and not your foes!

So grab gold, ammo and health as you blast down your many foes, and find chests containing weapons, loot, and mods for your weapons.
These Weapon mods you can find feel really good too, encouraging you to hang onto a weapon you might not have ammo for, in the hopes of getting something really cool, adding new abilities to your chosen tool, like a laser sight, another barrel, or more!

But Remember: Gaunt Valkyr gets tough, so make certain to use your survival and dps abilities to keep yourself alive!

Note: Gaunt Valkyr is in active development, and thus, any encountered bugs or other oddness is not representative of the final product.
Still, Gaunt Valkyr is fast, approachable Action Roguelike fun. Watch?
