This concludes the arduous process of bringing this piano medley to life~
The idea for this medley started in February this year, when I heard the teaser for Aimer’s Haru wa yuku single. I noticed that the song was in the same key as Hana no Uta, which prompted me to think of arranging the three theme songs from the Fate/Stay Night: Heaven’s Feel trilogy as a medley.
Hana no Uta, the theme song for Presage Flower, contains the main musical motif used in the original soundtracks for the three movies, which should come as no surprise if you’re familiar with composer Yuki Kajiura’s other works. Since I wanted to convey the idea of Hana no Uta as a recurring theme, the medley begins and concludes with it. There’s also a REALLY obvious reference to it when you get to the section for Haru wa yuku in this arrangement :P
I beg you is the theme song for Lost Butterfly, which also is my favourite out of the three theme songs. The lyrics of the song fully encapsulates Sakura’s character and her struggles, essentially serving as a microcosm for the Heaven’s Feel route. Although I really, really love this song and especially Aimer’s vocals, I’ll admit that I struggled with arranging this part, particularly on making the transitions into and out of this song flow naturally :( I had to think of ways to make variations so the melody wouldn’t come across as too repetitive, all while trying to recreate the orchestral sound. It was tough but fun!
Haru wa yuku concludes the trilogy as the theme song of Spring Song [the final movie] and I think it wouldn’t be a stretch to say I nearly cried when I first heard it :’)) It’s a fairly simple song, so I mainly aimed to preserve the soft, gentle vibes as best as I could during the relatively tranquil sections of the song.

Welp here it is, the medley. The amount of work we both did was probably more than preferred :^) I worked on putting everything together and making it look and sound nice. You may have noticed that we picked up a new VST for this project and for future songs, as it sounds REALLY nice compared to previous ones. One caveat is that the sustain data did not transfer, so I personally had to manually input 666 measures of sustain data into this thing; glad my sanity is still in check. Some prooflistening here and there helped us finalize the sound. Now off to the visuals, where I really wanted to oomph the quality. After piecing the video together, it turned out pretty sweet :D This amounted to around 37 hours of total render time, which was… pretty damn long. In the end, it's all worth though :)
I would like to thank Tani for making this awesome arrangement, she tried her best :D (?!?!)
