First, we do Rogue Lancer's final digression, which unlocks his True Name along with his NP. So now when we summon him he can effectively drop a nuke on the enemy. Which is good, because after that we fight the game's secret boss, Gilgamesh. He gives you the option to become his vassal for real and take over the world, which you can accept to get a secret ending. And I did, immediately, because that's great to see Iori just somehow make a leap in logic that this is the best course of action lol. But refusing will have him challenge you to a fight.

Gilgamesh is pretty much as strong as you'd expect. You're really supposed to fight him later, but with enough doing, he's beatable now. He's very difficult to stun, having access to his own special brand of Shell Gauge that's gold and deflects regular sword strikes even if you have the skill that makes them not be deflected. He also doesn't let his Shell Gauge stay broken for very long, so you really have to go hard to get some damage in. His attacks involve primarily using Gate of Babylon to barrage you with weapons, but he'll occasionally use some close-range attacks if you stay in range of it. At half HP, he'll enter phase 2 and most of his combos will gain additional attacks, including spawning some chains to track Iori and pop up from underneath him.

His moveset isn't THAT hard to get a handle on, it's mostly just his stats are so damn high that if you aren't fighting him with end-game stats, he can just be a damn hard wall to overcome.
