Feda - The Emblem of Justice is a Strategy Turn-based RPG for the Super Nintendo/Famicom. It was released in 1994, Developed by MAX Entertainment, and Published by Yanoman. It was fan-translated by Dynamic Designs into English in 2009.

STORY: 20/20
I really enjoyed the story of FEDA, or what I learned of it from what I played. You play as a Human and a Wolfling who both decide to become deserters of the corrupt Empire they currently serve after learning their regime is cold, brutal, and merciless to anyone, even peaceful citizens of villages, towns, and cities. After leaving the Empire they are continued to be chased down by a group put together by the Empire with just one sole mission, destroy all deserters and all those who stand against the Empire.

I like the story, it is extremely well written by the D-D team.

GRAPHICS: 14/20
This is a bit of a mixed bag for me, the game's battle graphics are extremely nice, very well animated, and all look unique with each character and their own special moves. Each character has their own look and monsters all look nice too. The world exploration sections look okay, and the setting of the game really suits the types of graphics used for it. However, the world exploration character and monster sprites and icons used for things like weapons, potions, etc.. look quite bad and very basic, which is a shame. I didn't come across any graphical issues whilst playing so the English patch looks to be of a top quality D-D standard.

SOUND: 14/20
The music is okay, it's nothing to rave about.. i've heard much better in other rpgs but it's not terrible so I think you'd probably not end up turning the music off. The sound effects are okay also, there's a few of them available for different attack types, movements, being attacked, you attacking, using stuff, menus, store exploring, etc. That's all I can really say on this other than nothing really stuck out to me and made me say "NICE!"

GAMEPLAY: 16/20
The game plays like a beginner's tutorial into strategy turn-based rpgs, it's extremely easy to get to grips with and learn, unlike other games such as Der Langrisser or Langrisser II that can be complicated at times for people who don't usually play Strategy RPGs.

SO! you control characters in a team where you get different types of tasks in battles, depending on what this is will change the outcome, such as ignoring monsters and just getting to point A or B, OR whether you choose to annihilate the monsters. There's a system in place that reflects this.. the "Emblem System" which raises or lowers depending on your actions, Neutral, Law or Chaotic.

Depending on what you tip towards different things will happen, such as meeting new allies, how long certain allies will stay in your team, gold and experience gains, and such. Even choices you make can have effects to change your direction. Choices in how you play also effect the story, people you recruit, even down to the game's final ending. There's quite a few number of people to recruit also.

World Map travel is similar to how the travel takes place in Super Mario World, set paths to follow and then entering a new location when you get to an explorable field. There's shops for equipment and items for you to look at, certain actions will boost or lower your Emblem gains.

Fighting in the field is quite nice, each type of field will give certain bonus effects or none at all, for example.. long grass will slow you down but gives you 20% more attack and defence where as plain ground gives no extra bonuses. Characters in battles each have their own unique attack skill that looks great, and usually accompanied by a cutscene of it being used, same with most other actions in battle.

TRANSLATION: 17/20
As far as I am aware, there's no graphical or text errors in the translation of Dynamic-Designs' patch BUT I AM aware that there are still a few bugs that couldn't be fixed. I am unsure if those bugs have been completely removed by now or not. There IS a patch v1.02 out now and the version I played above was v1.00, which i'm aware the 1.02 patch fixed a couple of issues. It seems there still is save issues where you NEED to make sure you save at any given chance because of random bugs happening.

OVER ALL: 79/100
There's just something about this game I got on well with, it was super easy to understand and control unlike most of the other strategy games from that era. I really enjoyed the story of what I learned to the point I played to, okay music and a great story. Do I recommend it..? sure, I enjoyed what I played of it.
