Prototype version of HAL's New Ghostbusters II for the Nintendo Entertainment System reveals that the game was once considered for North American release prior to the announcement of a competing Ghostbusters II title from Activision.
02:00 Radikal Bikers-GBC
The original Radikal Bikers was a pizza-delivery racing game for Arcades, developed by Gaelco in 1998 and later converted to PlayStation in 1999. A Game Boy Color port was also in development by Bit Managers, but it the end it was never released. Gameplay is similar to the original arcade version, but using a top-down, isometric view. Players race in different cities trying to avoid cars to delivery pizza to their clients as soon as possible.
04:32 Superman: Battle for Metropolis-GBA
Developed by Neon Studios and slated to be published by InfoGrames, this game was canceled after failing to impress the license holder for Superman. Regulations that were imposed on the character prohibited the developers from making the game they wanted, and so this prototype was created as a compromise to meet some of the demands of the licensor.
07:03 Fido Dido-SNES/Genesis
Fido Dido is a cartoon character made by Sue Rose and Joanna Ferrone. Fido was licensed as a mascot to PepsiCo in the late 80s, and appeared on stationary in the 90s before becoming attached primarily to the 7-Up brand, preceding Cool Spot. In 1993, a video game called Fido Dido was made by Kaneko for the Super NES and Sega Genesis. However, it was never released, because the publisher Kaneko's United States branch shut down in the summer of 1994.
09:03 The Shadow-SNES
The Shadow is a video game based on the 1994 Universal film of the same name. It was planned for release in 1994 on the Super NES, alongside other systems, but was canceled.
10:00 Nightmare Busters-SNES
Nightmare Busters is a run and gun action video game developed by the French company Arcade Zone for the Super NES. Originally planned for a 1995 release by Nichibutsu, the game was cancelled due to financial issues, but its development was resumed by Arcade Zone in the 2010s after fans who played beta cartridges of it called for an official release, which took place on December 23, 2013 by Super Fighter Team. The game's unusually tardy release, about fourteen years after the Super NES was discontinued in North America, makes it the first official game for the console after this period.
